Administration Staff

Tara Aders, Wings editor; Accreditation: Tara has a Masters in Counseling, which came in handy during her many jobs at the SFWS. She began working in the Lower School front office, gradually moving into various administrative and business positions as the school's administration grew. She is now working long distance from Newton MA, where she lives with her daughter, who attends Boston University. Tara's responsibilities include student billing, desktop publishing, the school calendar, school email communications, and coordination of the accreditation team.
Barbara Booth, School Administrator: Before working at SFWS, Barbara’s vocations in agriculture and education led her to teach and farm in Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States. Barbara received a BA from Middlebury College in Vermont and a Masters of Environmental Science from Antioch New England Graduate School. Barbara especially enjoys teaching high school students about farming and forestry and supporting the Waldorf movement across the world. Barbara Booth - Santa Fe Waldorf School
Celeste Booth, Administrative and Development Assistant: Celeste graduated with the first class of the SFWHS in 2005. She then earned a BA in Latin American Studies, with a minor in Spanish, at Smith College, from which she graduated in May 2009. Celeste assists in both the development and high school offices. Christine Chen, High School Chinese Teacher and Administrative Assistant, Class of 2012 Co-Sponsor: Christine has taught Chinese at SFWHS for three years. She also is the assistant to the School Administrator. She received a BA in Asian Studies and Economics from Williams College. She then worked for a non-profit modern dance company, Chen and Dancers, in Chinatown, New York. While living in California, Christine enrolled in the baking and pastry program at the California Culinary Academy and worked in the pastry department of the French bakery La Boulangerie. Carole Cressman, Grade School and Early Childhood Operations Coordinator and Campus Site Coordinator: Carole began working at SFWS in 2002 in the kindergarten and as a substitute teacher in the lower school. She assumed her current position in 2005. Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, her experience spans corporate administrative work, graduate study addressing the working needs of special populations, outdoor education with adults and adolescents, building and operating a ropes course, and developing a hiking and backpacking program for adolescents. Michael Davis, Site and Maintenance Technician: Michael hails from California and has lived in Santa Fe for the last 12 years.  Mike served in the Navy prior to his 40 years in the construction and maintenance professions.  He has been a white water rafting guide for 9 years. Mike is a father and grandfather and enjoys working at SFWS around the laughter and exuberance of children on campus. Michael Davis - Santa Fe Waldorf School
Linda Forrest, Human Resources and Bookkeeping: In 1983 Linda moved to Santa Fe to help start SFWS as a kindergarten teacher. She later was a class teacher for 8 years and currently is working in the Business Office in human resources and bookkeeping.  Her two children are SFWS graduates.  Linda Forrest - Santa Fe Waldorf School
Mary Freitas, College Guidance Counselor: Mary taught in the Santa Fe Public Schools and was a founding teacher of SFWHS. She has degrees from St. John’s College in Santa Fe and the University of New Mexico. She also is completing the Waldorf High School Teacher Training Program at Rudolf Steiner College. Mary discovered Waldorf education when she worked as Director of Admissions for St. John’s College and met some of the outstanding young Waldorf alumni applying to the college. Judith K. Nix, Development Director: Judith has worked as a professional development officer for more than 35 years, both as an employee and as an independent consultant to nonprofit organizations. Judy boasts that in her career “no,” in all its forms and styles, has served as an inspiration to her work. Judith K. Nix - Santa Fe Waldorf School
Cita Riley, Enrollment & Outreach Coordinator: Cita has been associated with SFWS since enrolling her children here in 1990. She has served on the Board of Trustees for 10 years. She has served as the Enrollment & Outreach Coordinator since July 2005. Cita received a BA from the University of Texas, a Physical Therapy degree from University of Pennsylvania, a Masters degree from the University of Utah, and a Certificate in Non-profit Management from the University of New Mexico. Sherri Role, Elementary School Front Desk Reception:
Uli Stuerznickel, High School Coordinator: Uli taught for three years at the Tucson Waldorf School and has been at SFWS for the past eight years. She has a BA in Elementary Education from Prescott College, a diploma in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and a Waldorf Teacher Certificate from Antioch University New England. Her favorite aspects of being a Waldorf teacher: the strong relationships developed with the students and the curriculum, which integrates music, arts, and academics. John D. Varner, Business Manager: After working in the industrial gas industry for 20 years, John began assisting the business offices of independent schools.  Before coming to Santa Fe in 2007, John was the Business Manager at schools in Glenelg, Maryland, and Dallas, Texas.  John earned a BA from the University of Virginia in 1968.
