| Grades 1-8 Admissions
The
Application
An Enrollment Application Form is
submitted to the school along with the non-refundable $50 application
fee. All questions on the application form are answered as fully
as possible. Once the Enrollment Office has received the application
and fee, the family will be contacted to schedule an interview with
the teacher of the class. If there are currently no openings in
the class, the child's name will be placed on the waiting list (see
below)after having been interviewed. A child entering First Grade
in the Fall of any school year must be six years of age by June
1 of the year he enrolls in First Grade.

The Interview
The interview is an opportunity for parents and class teacher to
discuss the education—its philosophical premises and methodology—as
it pertains to the individual child. Parents present their expectations
and confirm that Waldorf education is what they truly seek for their
child. In meeting the student, the Class Teacher ensures that the
school can accommodate this young person’s gifts and challenges.
Financial Arrangements
Upon the successful completion of the interview, registration fees
are paid and a Tuition and Enrollment Agreement signed. This document
is mailed to the family by the Finance Office of the school. All
fees and tuition are listed in the Tuition and Fee Schedule which
is updated in January of each year. Tuition assistance is available
for families in grades 1-8 for those who apply and qualify.
Waiting Lists
Any child whose application is received after the class has reached
maximum enrollment will automatically be placed on a waiting list
after having been interviewed. Should an opening arise, the parents
and prospective student will be contacted. Special consideration
is given to SFWS siblings and Waldorf transfer students. If the
parents cannot be reached, the next name on the list will be called.
The child's name will remain on the waiting list until he or she
is enrolled, the parents request that the child's name be removed,
an opening offered to the child is refused or there is no contact
with the school for an extended period of time.
It is the parents' responsibility to check on the status of their
child's application. No child will be added to a waiting list without
first submitting an application along with the non-refundable application
fee payment.
