Elementary School Faculty


Danelle Aragon, Handwork Teacher: Danelle joined SFWS in 2005 and has been teaching for fourteen years. She has a BS from Colorado College and an MA in Education in Waldorf Education from Antioch University New England. Her teaching experience includes a stint in the Peace Corps; teaching in Japan; and teaching science, Spanish and environmental education in Colorado, where she is a licensed teacher. Her favorite aspect of being a Waldorf teacher is being with the students.

Jennie Baudhuin, 3rd Grade Class Teacher: Jennie joined SFWS in 1983, is a founding member of our school and has thirty years of teaching experience. Jennie graduated from the Waldorf Institute, Spacial Dynamics Institute, Remedial Training at Rudolf Steiner College, and holds a B.S. in Liberal Arts in History and Religion from Excelsior College. Her teaching experience includes Kindergarten, Class Teacher 1-8, Handwork, Movement Education, Upper Grade Painting, and working in Educational Support. Jennie has served as a representative for the Waldorf Association of North America for developing schools, Rudolf Steiner College summer faculty, and mentor for Waldorf teachers in many countries. She has had the profound honor of working with the OlymPeace, All in Peace, Hands in Peace projects in Olympia and Delphi Greece, Ecuador, China, and United States, co-coordinating of Peace Jam in New Mexico with Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, and founder of the Global Friendship Project. Jennie's favorite aspect of teaching is observing the enthusiasm and joys each student experiences in developing something new within themselves, and the profound social relationships that develop as the Waldorf curriculum unfolds throughout the years. Her children graduated from SFWS.

Jennie Baudhuin - Santa Fe Waldorf School

Thomas Baudhuin, 6th Grade Class Teacher: Thomas joined SFWS in 1985. He studied Biology at the University of New Mexico and Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has a Waldorf Teaching Certificate from Mercy College in Detroit and completed his Spatial Dynamics training. He has thirty years of teaching experience, which includes teaching at London Waldorf School in Ontario, Canada, which he helped found in 1980. Thomas helped to facilitate OlymPeace, All in Peace, and Hands in Peace projects in Olympia and Delphi, Greece, Quito, Ecuador, China, and in New York. His favorite aspects of being a Waldorf teacher is working with the students, especially middle school students, in all aspects of the curriculum and the fascinating task of designing the yearly curriculum for different groups of students.

Carol Carnicom, Grades Cello Teacher: Carol joined SFWS in 1998 and has more than twenty years of teaching experience. She studied Music Applied/Education and Cello at the University of Montana and received a certificate of completion at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. Carol teaches privately, mostly Waldorf students, dovetailing private instruction with classroom requirements.  She delights in sharing her love of music and the cello with students of all ages.  Carol Carnicom - Santa Fe Waldorf Elementary School
Raquel Castilla, 8th-12th Grade Spanish Teacher and Class of 2014, Co-Sponsor. Raquel joined the SFWS faculty in 2010. A native of Madrid, Spain she earned her degree in Educational Psychology form the University UNED, Madrid. She moved to the states in 2000 and has more than fourteen years of teaching experience as a Spanish teacher. Pablo Champion, Instrumental Music Teacher: Pablo joined SFWS in 2005 and has taught for more than seventeen years. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Texas and a Masters Degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York. He is currently a Doctoral candidate at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where he studied Early Music Performance. When not at SFWS Pablo teaches guitar and bass privately.

Linda Forrest, 1st Grade Class Teacher: Linda joined SFWS in 1983 and is a founding member of the school. She taught for sixteen years and took a departure from teaching in 2006 to become the school's Human Resource Coordinator and Bookkeeper. Linda studied history and science and  received her Waldorf Certification from Waldorf Institute; Early Childhood education from Mercy College of Detroit, and grades 1-8 training at Sacramento Waldorf School. She is a certified bookkeeper and the school's Notary. She is happy to be back in the classroom, helping to shape the minds of the first grade class. Her two children are graduates of the school.

Linda Fanning (Senora Esparz), Grades 1-5 Spanish Teacher: Linda joined SFWS in 2012 and is a native Spanish speaker who has been teaching language for twenty years. Linda has a BA from Bryn Mawr College and a Masters degree in Russian literature and language from the University of Iowa.  In addition to Spanish, she is also fluent in French and Russian. Over the years she has incorporated the Waldorf way of teaching into her languages and enjoys presenting language through singing, dancing and artistic activities for the younger students. Lee Harvey, Strings Orchestra Teacher: Lee hails from the New England area. She has studied at the New England Conservatory, Lawrence University and University of Colorado at Boulder. She performs locally, teaches at Acequia Madre, El Dorado, Santa Fe Waldorf and has a private studio. She loves to share the wonder, joys, and challenges of music with the younger generation of Santa Fe. Long live music! Lee Harvey - Santa Fe Waldorf Elementary School
Keri Krebsbach, Middle and High School Choir Director: Before joining SFWS in 2012, Keri taught high school and middle school choir and elementary music at various schools in Wisconsin for four years. She earned her undergraduate degrees from the University of Wisconin Oshkosh in Music Education and Vocal Performance. During her years of teaching she has given private voice lessons, directed a competitive show choir, glee clubs, vocal jazz and assistant directed various musicals. She loves to incorporate dance and movement into her curriculum an expose her students to the various styles of vocal music. Fletcher Lathrop, Woodwork Teacher: Fletcher is a founding member of SFWS and of the Woodwork program at the school. He graduated from the Unversity of Texas with a BA in Economics and Political Science. He has taught woodworking for more than thirty years. He also taught as a class teacher for two classes through the 8th grade. His favorite aspect in being a Waldorf teacher is the opportunity to establish strong and fruitful working relationships with students as he guides them through the four-year woodworking curriculum. His three children graduated from SFWS.

Diana Lopez, Grades Movement Teacher: Diana joined SFWS in 2011 and graduated from California State University-Northridge with a BA in Child Development. She has taught  since 1997 and her teaching experience includes teaching grades one and six while living in California.

Sharon McFeely, 8th Grade Class Teacher: Sharon joined SFWS in 2011. She has a BS in Science Education from Western Illinois University and received her Waldorf Teacher Training certification from Rudolf Steiner College. Sharon also completed the Remedial Movement three-year program and participated in the Consciousness Studies program with Dennis Klocek at Rudolf Steiner College. She has nearly twenty-four years of teaching experience and discovered Waldorf education while teaching in the public school system. She had been on a quest to discover more innovative teaching methods. Her favorite aspect of Waldorf Education is the unending opportunity for growth and integration it provides for child and teacher.

Michael Oellig, 5th Grade Class Teacher and Elementary Faculty Chair: Michael joined SFWS in 1990 and has twenty-eight years of teaching experience. He has a BS from Indiana State University in English Education, Master’s degree from Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University in Educational Psychology. He also received his Waldorf Teacher Training certification. His favorite aspect of being a Waldorf teacher is growing with the children year by year, meeting the challenges of a new curriculum each year, and following students’ lives as they grow into adulthood.

Michael Oellig - Santa Fe Waldorf Elementary School

Uli Stuerznickel, Middle School and High School Math Teacher: Uli has taught a wide range of Math at SFWS since 2002, prior to teaching at our school she taught at the Tucson Waldorf School for three years. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Prescott College; a diploma in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and a Waldorf Teacher Certificate from Antioch University New England. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Education. Her favorite aspects of being a Waldorf teacher: the strong relationships developed with the students and the curriculum, which integrates music, arts, and academics.

Peter Swing, Marimba Teacher: Peter Swing has taught the marimba music of Zimbabwe, as well as performing and building marimbas full time, since 1996.  He studied with Zimbabwean master musician Dr. Dumisani Maraire and other Zimbabwean masters since 1988 in Portland, Oregon.   He continues to transmit the traditional music, as well as composing original music for his band, Jakatu, for which he also plays accoustic guitar.

Christa Valdez, 2nd Grade Class Teacher: Christa joined SFWS in 2011 and received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education through Prescott College and holds her teaching licenses in New Mexico and Oregon.  Christa completed her Waldorf Certification through Antioch University, New England and is currently working on her Master's degree in Education. Christa loves photography, painting, gardening, handwork, and spending time with her son.  Her favorite aspect of being a Waldorf teacher is that every school day the teachers and the students are co-creating an inspiring and enriching learning experience with each other.

Melody Van Hoose, K-8th Grades Eurythmy Teacher: Melody joined SFWS in 2012. She graduated in 2003 from The American Eurythmy School and has been teaching across the US in Waldorf schools, public schools, and Camphill ever since. In 2009 she completed the Therapeutic Eurythmy training program at the Therapeutic Eurythmy Training of Great Britian and in 2011 received her massage certification. She is currently in her fourth year of studying Spatial Dynamics as well.

Hans von Moritz, 7th Grade Class Teacher: Hans joined SFWS in 1999, and rejoined the school in 2009. He studied theology at the Universitaet Muenchen, Germany. He received the Waldorf Teacher Diploma from Rudolf Steiner College in Sacramento, CA, in 1980. His teaching experience for more than thirty-three years includes:language teacher for German, English, and Latin in grades 1-12, and as a class teacher in German, American, and Canadian Waldorf Schools. Daniel Wendland, Middle School P.E. and Movement Teacher, Athletic Director; Coach (Volleyball, Girls' Varsity Basketball, and Track and Field; Class of 2015, Co-Sponsor: Daniel joined the SFWS faculty in 2004. He has a BS in Kinesiology from Humboldt State University and has received his Spacial Dynamics/Movement Training certification from the Spacial Dynamics Institute.He began teaching in California in 2001 as a physical education teacher, and coaching JV baseball and football. He spent two years in Ifrane, Morocco, as a K-12 movement teacher, athletic director, and coach. His favorite aspect of being a Waldorf teacher - working with the amazing students who love to learn and play.

Bonnie Wilner, 4th Grade Class Teacher: Bonnie joined SFWS in 2009 and has taught for nearly twenty years. She graduated from the Waldorf Institute of Southern California and  taught at Rudolf Steiner College, a training center for Waldorf teachers. Bonnie's previous careers as a professional touring musician and a practitioner of the healing arts add to the special gifts she can bring to her classroom.
