Preschool Teacher and Early Childhood Aftercare Teacher | Ms. Bolstad
A member of SFWS since 2013, Ms. Bolstad honors the space of being a Waldorf teacher and experiencing the unhurried maturation of the young child. A Waldorf teacher since 2006, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at MCAD and graduated from Rudolf Steiner College with a Waldorf Early Childhood Certificate. She renews her spirit from nature and being part of the outdoors, which brings inspiration to her teaching.
Kindergarten Teacher | Ms. McCormick
A member of SFWS since 1997, Ms. McCormick is grateful that her students can be in nature and walk in the soil, rather than on concrete and that our education is musical and artistic in the presentation of all things. She studied at the Waldorf Institute of Santa Monica, Gradalis Remedial Training, and received a certificate from the West Coast Institute in Early Childhood Remedial training. She earned an Early Childhood Associates equivalent and Early Childhood Administration Certificate from UCLA and completed a Nurturing the Roots Waldorf Certificate. Ms. McCormick sings with the Santa Fe Symphony Chorus and enjoys the experience of expression through song, individually and as a group. Her three children graduated from SFWS.
Kindergarten | Ms. Salyer
A member of SFWS since 2006, Ms. Salyer enjoys the outdoor space at SFWS allowing her to share the ever-changing beauty and course of nature with the children. She received her Associate of Arts, Certificate in Waldorf Early Childhood Education, Certificate in Advanced Therapeutic Training for Early Childhood Educator and Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Certificates. She recharges in the summer by hiking and backpacking and in winter practices the art of slow-food cooking. Her two daughters graduated from SFWS.
Kindergarten Assistant | Ms. Nace
A member of SFWS since 2011, Ms. Nace loves to experience the children's ability to always live-in-the-moment and to see life with joy and wonder. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration from Baylor University. She enjoys needlework and making felt pins, which she wears to class. She has two daughters, one currently attends SFWS and the second graduated from SFWS in 2013.

Grade 1 Teacher | Ms. McFeely
A member of SFWS since 2011, Ms. McFeely loves how Waldorf education is an art, and the Waldorf teacher an artist of education. She believes that children who attend a Waldorf school have the opportunity to evolve, unfold their potential, develop their gifts and experience a deep sense of being as they become an authentic human being. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education and is a Certified Waldorf Educator and Certified Waldorf Remedial Educator. She enjoys photography and creative writing.
Grade 2 Teacher | Ms. Forrest
A founding member of SFWS since 1983, Ms. Forrest loves being and interacting with the children each day, teaching them new skills, watching them light up, and sharing their enthusiasm for learning. She has taught for ten years and held various other positions at SFWS during her tenure. She holds a Waldorf teaching K-8 certification and studied education, science and history. She enjoys expressing herself through dancing and gardening when not reading or studying geology. Her two children attended SFWS through Grade 8.
Grade 3 Teacher and Elementary Grades Orchestra Teacher | Mr. Sciarretta
A member of SFWS since 2013, Mr. Sciarretta enjoys the warmth of the families, students and Waldorf community in Santa Fe and the support faculty and staff provide to this teaching. He is a graduate from Earlham College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and German Language and Culture and has a Waldorf Teaching Certificate from Sunbridge College. An avid outdoors enthusiast, he enjoys sharing his passion with his two daughters, who attend SFWS.
Grade 4 Teacher | Ms. Baudhuin
A founding member of SFWS since 1983, Ms. Baudhuin loves to observe the enthusiasm and joy each student experiences in developing something new within him/herself. She is a graduate of Stratford College, University of North Carolina, has a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts-History and Religion from Excelsior College, a diploma of Waldorf Education from Waldorf Institute, and received her certificate in Spatial Dynamics and Remedial Training. Her daughter and two step-sons graduated from SFWS, and she has two grandchildren currently at SFWS.
Grade 5 Teacher | Ms. Wilner
A member of SFWS since 2008, Ms. Wilner loves working with the students and deepening her understanding of the Waldorf curriculum through the eyes of the children. She studied Humanities and Education at Prescott College, received her Waldorf Teacher Training at Waldorf Institute of Southern California, has a Certificate in Council Training from Ojai Foundation and has taught Waldorf education for 20 years. She loves to sing, quilt and has written several articles for the Renewal Magazine.
Grade 6 Teacher | Mr. Oellig
A member of SFWS since 1990, Mr. Oellig enjoys sharing the common goal with faculty and staff of furthering the development, on all levels, of the children who come to us for their education. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Indiana State University, a Waldorf Teaching Certificate from Emerson College, Forest Row, England, and a Master’s Level coursework in Educational Psychology from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ. He loves spending his time outdoors when he’s not in the classroom.
Grade 7 Teacher | Mr. Baudhuin
A member of SFWS since 1985, Mr. Baudhuin loves experiencing how the ideas and insights into child development and the education of children, developed by Rudolf Steiner nearly 100 years ago, remain relevant today. He studied Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Madison, Biology at UNM in Albuquerque, received his Waldorf Teacher Training at Mercy College in Detroit, and completed his Spacial Dynamics Training. He loves the feel of resistance and the letting go of materials and himself when he carves wood and alabaster in his spare time. His three children graduated from SFWS, and has two grandchildren currently attending.
Grade 8 Teacher | Ms. Logue
A member of SFWS since 2013, Ms. Logue has taught the Waldorf education for nearly 20 years and loves the joyful and earnest manner in which her colleagues approach their work at SFWS. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Notre Dame, completed her graduate studies in Geology at San Diego State University, has a California Teaching Credential from Chapman University. She enjoys the abundant hiking trails in Northern New Mexico, which she finds broadens her sense of wonder and nourishes her soul. Her two daughters attend SFWS.
Grades Eurythmy Teacher | Ms. Van Hoose
A member of SFWS since 2011, Ms. Van Hoose loves the creativity that arises in class as children watch one another move, and share their imaginations and pictures of what they see unfolding before them. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Eurythmy from University College of Eurythmy in Norway and graduated from the American Eurythmy School, Therapeutic Eurythmy Training of Great Britian, New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts, and is working towards the completion of her Spatial Dynamics Training. She enjoys movement and her place in the world through hiking, swimming, dancing and gardening.
Grades Handwork Teacher | Ms. Aragon
A member of SFWS since 2004, Ms. Aragon enjoys the time she spends with students guiding them as they unleash their creativity, and relishes their expressive delight in learning. She received her Bachelor’s of Science from University of Colorado and Art from Colorado College, she holds a Masters in Education from Antioch, and is Waldorf and Public School certified from Antioch. When not teaching, she loves cooking and finds joy in the process.

A member of SFWS since 2013, Ms. Houser loves how the arts are integrated in the curriculum. She has a Bachelor of Music degree from University of Iowa. She is enrolled in the Photography program at the Santa Fe University of Arts and Design. When not pursuing her love of photography, she knits mittens for the homeless.

A member of SFWS since 2005, Mr. Sciarretta enjoys sharing his love and knowledge of the earth with the school community. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Bowdoin College and a Master of Arts in Environmental Studies from Antioch University. His hobby, naturally, is gardening and providing homegrown produce for his family.

A member of SFWS since 1989, Mr. Lathrop enjoys facilitating and observing students as they develop and hone their creativity in class. He has taught woodworking for fourteen years during his career at SFWS and loves to tie flies, cast his line and be out in nature flyfishing. His three children graduated from SFWS.
High School Coordinator and Humanities Teacher | Mr. Ryan
A member of SFWS since 2011, Mr. Ryan's love of teaching has always come through the challenges and gifts of working with young people through their adolescent years. The satisfaction of contributing positively to society through this work is immeasurable to him, as is the personal growth teaching affords the individual. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Secondary Education. He enjoys working with wild plants, maintaining vintage Volkswagens, and playing musical instruments. He has two daughters, one attends SFWS and the other is looking forward to attending Preschool.
High School Math and Physical Sciences Teacher, Wilderness Experience Team Coordinator, High School Registrar, and High School Faculty Chair | Mr. Burritt
A member of SFWS since 2005, Mr. Burritt loves working with adolescents, helping them to understand and develop their unique talents and skills in classroom and wilderness contexts. He is a Waldorf graduate from Green Meadow Waldorf School, in New York, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in Santa Fe. As an outdoor enthusiast, canoeist and beekeeper, he shares his passion with students in the Wilderness program at SFWS.
Middle and High School Spanish Teacher | Ms. Castilla
A member of SFWS since 2009, Ms. Castilla loves the relationship that develops and unfolds naturally with the students, and loves watching them grow and become young adults. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Psychology from the Universidad UNED in Madrid, Spain, and a Summer Renewal Course on the Art of Teaching Spanish from the Rudolf Steiner College, CA. She enjoys exploring and spending time in nature, hiking, and honoring the earth through gardening.
High School Humanities and Drama Teacher | Mr. Ciofalo
A member of SFWS since 2012, Mr. Ciofalo appreciates that the students meet his passion for teaching subjects from many angles and disciplines – art, music, literature, history and film – willingly and enthusiastically. He holds Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Colorado, a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Art History from the University of Iowa. He enjoys cooking and perfecting the art of the soufflé.
High School Humanities Teacher and 9th Grade Class Sponsor | Ms. Colgate
A member of SFWS since 2001, Ms. Colgate enjoys sharing her love of words and the discussions she has with students. She loves to see how literature and writing prowess develops during the student's high school years. She has a Bachelor of Arts and Master in Business Administration, and Waldorf High School Teacher Certificate. She continues her passion outside of the classroom by reading, journaling, hiking the hills, and meandering through thoughtful conversations under the stars on summer nights. Her two children attended SFWS.

A member of SFWS since 2006, Mr. Otero likes seeing students go through their high school years maturing towards what they will become. He graduated from San Francisco State University in Journalism and International Relations, and studied Art in Holland. In his spare time, he also coaches SFWS Soccer-Junior Varsity and Basketball-Middle School teams, as well as reads and writes. His two children attend SFWS.
High School Math and Science Teacher and 12th Grade Class Sponsor | Mr. Shultz
A member of SFWS since 2001, Mr. Shultz studied Physics at MIT, Life Science at University of Vermont, and received a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from Antioch New England Graduate School in New Hampshire. When not in the lab, he can be found enjoying nature—hiking, fishing, or camping. His daughter graduated from the first High School class at SFWS.

A member of SFWS since 2002, Ms. Stuerznickel loves teaching in a school that is motivated by a clear vision and finds its inspiration in the philosophy and pedagogy based on Anthroposophy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Prescott College and Waldorf Teaching Certification from Antioch. Her two daughters graduated from SFWS in 2010 and 2011.
High School Physical Education and Movement Teacher, Athletic Director and Coach, and 11th Grade Class Sponsor | Mr. Wendland
A member of SFWS since 2004, Mr. Wendland loves how our students naturally integrate movement, teamwork and cooperation skills in their daily life at school and on our various teams. He has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Humboldt State University, a California K-12 teaching license, and is a Spacial Dynamics Level 1 graduate. He loves to get his hands dirty by becoming one with the earth and enjoys the rewards that mother nature provides.
High School Farm and Forest Ecology Teacher | Ms. Booth
A member of SFWS since 1993, Ms. Booth believes that students who attend a Waldorf school have incredible capacities, especially at SFWS with the awesome curriculum and teachers. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Elementary Education from Middlebury College, a Masters of Environmental Science, and Administration and Education from Antioch New England University. She loves to walk and run through landscapes, developing an intimate and personal connection over time with the land she passes. Her daughter graduated from the first High School class of SFWS.
SFWS School Choir Director | Ms. Bentree
A member of SFWS since 2013, Ms. Bentree feels that teaching is a way to give and ignite the joy of song in her students. She gives thanks to those who guided her and her career. She has a Bachelors of Music in Education, and is working towards the completion of a Masters of Art OLIT degree. Feeling that nature restores her soul, she enjoys hiking, photography, horseback riding, and writing.
High School Jazz Ensemble Teacher | Mr. Buckley
A member of SFWS since 2012, Mr. Buckley loves the excitement of learning together and being part of such a positive environment at SFWS. As a class we don't just play music, we share our feelings, support each other, discuss world events, and communicate through playing music. He studied classical guitar performance at University of Arizona and Pima Community College. He commutes regularly on his bicycle and looks forward to the time when he can commute to music ‘gigs’ on his bike with his guitar and equipment in tow. His two sons attend SFWS.
