Sherry Bishop, High School Studio Arts Teacher: Sherry Bishop has been teaching art to students of all ages for 20 years.  Teaching in various media, her signature style embraces the creative spirit at the intersection of art and nature.

Barbara Booth, High School Forest Ecology and Farm Experience Teacher: Before working at SFWS, Barbara’s vocations in agriculture and education led her to teach and farm in Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States. Barbara received a BA from Middlebury College in Vermont and a Masters of Environmental Science from Antioch New England Graduate School. Barbara especially enjoys teaching high school students about farming and forestry and supporting the Waldorf movement across the world. BarbaraBooth

Sean Buckley, Sean began teaching at SFWS in 2012 as the Jazz Ensemble Teacher. He attended the University of Arizona’s School of Music, with an emphasis in guitar performance. His teaching experience spans more than twelve years of private guitar and music theory. As a performance level jazz musician, Sean can be found playing in numerous local venues and jazz bands. His two children attend the school.

Matthew Burritt, High School Math and Science Teacher, Class of 2013 Co-Sponsor: Matthew joined the SFWHS faculty in 2005 as a teacher of math and physical science and a wilderness experience guide. Matthew earned his undergraduate degree from St. John’s College in Santa Fe and received his Waldorf High School Teaching Certificate at the Center for Anthroposophy in Wilton, New Hampshire. Matthew has more than ten years of teaching experience, including teaching earth sciences with the Peace Corps in Guinea, West Africa. Matthew graduated from the Green Meadow Waldorf School in New York.

Raquel Castilla, 8th-12th Grade Spanish Teacher and Class of 2014, Co-Sponsor. Raquel joined the SFWS faculty in 2010. A native of Madrid, Spain she earned her degree in Educational Psychology form the University UNED, Madrid. She moved to the states in 2000 and has more than fourteen years of teaching experience as a Spanish teacher. She loves working with students, establishing relationships and seeing them grow through the years.

Pablo Champion, Instrumental Music Teacher: Pablo joined SFWS in 2005 and has taught for more than seventeen years. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Texas and a Masters Degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester New York. He is currently a Doctoral candidate at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where he studied Early Music Performance. When not at SFWS Pablo teaches guitar and bass privately.

Christine Chen, High School Chinese Teacher and International Program Coordinator : Christine joined SFWS in 2003 and worked in the Adminstration department. She has taught Chinese at SFWS since 2008. She received a BA in Asian Studies and Economics from Williams College. She worked for a non-profit modern dance company, Chen and Dancers, in Chinatown, New York. While living in California, Christine enrolled in the baking and pastry program at the California Culinary Academy and worked in the pastry department of the French bakery La Boulangerie.

Jake Ciofalo, High School Humanities, Art and Theater Teacher: Jake received his BA in History and Comparative Literature at Colorado University and an MA and Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Iowa. He taught at the college level for 20 years and is the author of a number of books and a play. He has received a variety of awards for his writing and teaching, including an N.E.H. Fellowship from Princeton University. After noticing that many stellar students in his college classes had attended a Waldorf school, he enrolled his children in one many years ago. Prior to his arrival at SFWS, he and his family ran a biodynamic educational farm in Ohio for five years. He is on his way to completing his Waldorf high school teacher training in New Hampshire. His two children attend SFWS.

Pam Colgate, High School English Teacher: Pam began teaching in the High School in 2001. She received her teaching certification as a High School Teacher from the Center of Anthroposophy. She received her BA in English from Colorado College and has an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Columbia University. Prior to teaching Pam worked in corporate marketing and new product development for twenty years. She has a great passion for great grammar, exquisite writing, and dynamic discussions. Her two favorite aspects of being a Waldorf English teacher is helping to guide students through the classics in a way that makes those works vibrant in the context of today's world, and forming partnerships with students through the exploration of language, literature, and life.

Richard Guzman, High School Studio Arts Teacher: Richard has been painting Northern New Mexico plein for 18 years. He comes to Santa Fe from Southern New Mexico via Wyoming and a 17-year stint in telecommunications. He is certified in secondary education mathematics. Richard earned an art degree from the College of Santa Fe.

Lee Harvey, Strings Orchestra Teacher: Lee hails from the New England area. She has studied at the New England Conservatory, Lawrence University and University of Colorado at Boulder. She performs locally, teaches at Acequia Madre, El Dorado, Santa Fe Waldorf and has a private studio. She loves to share the wonder, joys, and challenges of music with the younger generation of Santa Fe. Long live music! Lee Harvey - Santa Fe Waldorf High School

Keri Krebsbach, Middle and High School Choir Director: Before joining the SFWS in 2012, Keri taught high school & middle school choir and elementary music at various schools in Wisconsin for four years. She earned her undergraduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in Music Education and Vocal Performance. During her years of teaching she has given private voice lessons, directed a competitive show choir, glee clubs, vocal jazz and assistant directed various musicals. She loves to incorporate dance and movement into her curriculum and expose her students to the various styles of vocal music. Keri is currently working on her Masters Degree in Music Education at St. Thomas University in Minnesota.

Fletcher Lathrop, Woodwork Teacher: Fletcher a founding member of SFWS and of the Woodwork program. He graduated from University of Texas with a BA in Economics and Political Science. He has taught woodworking for more than thirty years, including teaching as a class teacher for two classes for eight years. His favorite aspect in being a Waldorf teacher is the opportunity to establish strong and fruitful working relationships with students as he guides them through the four-year woodworking curriculum. His three children graduated from SFWS.

Enrique Otero, High School Humanities Teacher: Enrique joined the SFWS faculty in 2008, after teaching for three years at the East Bay Waldorf School near San Francisco. He has a BA from San Francisco State University and received a Baccalaureate in Visual Arts in Europe. He graduated from the Rudolf Steiner College of Teacher Training and received his Waldorf High School Teacher training. He can be seen on the courts assisting as the Middle School Basketball coach. His favorite aspect of being a Waldorf teacher is watching students as they mature through their high school years.  His two children attend the school.

Elliot Ryan, High School Humanities Teacher, Class of 2013 Co-Sponsor. Elliot joined SFWS in 2010 and has been teaching English and History in Santa Fe for more than thirteen years. He received his MS from the University of New Mexico in Secondary Education, History and English. He leads the Amnesty International Club and is dedicated to helping young people uncover their potential. Outside the classroom, he spends time in the wilderness as an herbalist and adventurer. He is a gifted musician, sharing his love for music with our students. He has two children, of which the eldest attends the school.. ERyan
Chris Sciarretta, High School Studio and Practical Arts Teacher: Chris joined SFWS in 2005 and taught as a Naturalist Educator and English teacher since 1998. He received his BA in Biology from Bowdoin College in Maine and his MS in Environmental Studies from Antioch New England University. He is a graduate of the Green Meadow Waldorf School. Chris is a biologist and educator with more than a decade of experience in ecological research, youth leadership, education, carpentry, gardening, landscaping, and facilities maintenance. Greg Shultz, High School Math and Science Teacher: Greg joined the SFWS faculty in 2001. His teaching career includes more than 25 years of teaching experience. He has taught in several countries as an Educational Director of a non-profit agricultural development organization and on the Ramah Navajo reservationi. He also taught in the agricultural highlands of northern New Mexico. Greg received an MS degree in Environmental Studies from Antioch New England Graduate School and completed the Waldorf High School Teacher Training in 2002. His daughter was a graduate of SFWHS.

Uli Stuerznickel, High School Math Teacher, Class of 2015 Co-Sponsor: Uli has taught a wide range of Math at SFWS since 2002, prior to teaching at our school she taught at the Tucson Waldorf School for three years. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Prescott College; a diploma in Acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and a Waldorf Teacher Certificate from Antioch University New England. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Education. Peter Swing, Marimba Teacher: Peter Swing has taught the marimba music of Zimbabwe, as well as performing and building marimbas full time, since 1996.  He studied with Zimbabwean master musician Dr. Dumisani Maraire and other Zimbabwean masters since 1988 in Portland, Oregon.   He continues to transmit the traditional music, as well as composing original music for his band, Jakatu, for which he also plays accoustic guitar. Elizabeth Towers, High School Coordinator: Elizabeth brings to SFWHS thirty years of experience in arts administration, education, and design practice, as well as her love of nature. She studied fine art and interior design at San Francisco State University, received an MA in Art History from San Jose State University, and has taught at UC Santa Cruz, UNC Asheville and Marymount University in Virginia.  Her breadth of administrative work ranges from academic support and nonprofit performing arts management to gallery management and interiors/architectural design practice.  Dedicated to the arts and interdisciplinary education, Elizabeth was drawn to Waldorf education for her three children and continues to be inspired by its role in awakening the individual into an active life of creating, learning, and serving others.

Daniel Wendland, Athletic Director; Coach (Volleyball, Girls’ Varsity Basketball, and Track & Field); and 9-12 Games and Movement Teacher: Daniel joined the SFWS faculty in 2004. He has a BS in Kinesiology from Humboldt State University and has received his Spacial Dynamics/Movement Training certification from the Spacial Dynamics Institute.He began teaching in California in 2001 as a physical education teacher, and coaching JV baseball and football. He spent two years in Ifrane, Morocco, as a K-12 movement teacher, athletic director, and coach. His favorite aspect of being a Waldorf teacher - working with the amazing students who love to learn and play.
