Grade 10 Play | Fool's Journey, Student Performance

Part fable, part masquerade, Fool's Journey is a comical, tongue-in-cheek tale, inspired by the colorful symbolism of the Hero's Journey A nameless Fool whose memory has been lost sets off on a pilgrimage to find his identity, aided by a mysterious Magician. Along the way our hero has numerous misadventures with an eccentric assortment of archetypal characters. In a happy ending for all concerned, the Fool at last makes a discovery that answers his question and sets him loose to pursue a thousand more. We are all taking the Fool's Journey--but getting there is half the fun.

Lily Ceremony

Waldorf schools around the world mark the beginning and end of each school year with a ceremony highlighting the passage of 1st and 12th grade students. Here we honor that passage through the exchange of a lily for the 1st grade students from the twelfth grade students.

The Santa Fe Waldorf School community is invited to celebrate our traditional Lily Ceremony. Our 12th grade students usher in the new academic year by welcoming the 1st grade students. Semi-formal attire is requested.

Seven Virtures of Waldorf Education - A Presentation by Joan Treadaway, M.S.

The pressure and demands of the 21st century threaten to deaden our senses and overwhelm our capacities for meeting our children and each other. Through correlation to contemporary biographies and autobiographies Joan will demonstrate how these virtues, first presented by Rudolf Steiner in 1924 continue to guide us in awakening to our true selves as we strive to become more fully human, perceiving more fully the children in our care.

Joan Treadaway has been a Waldorf and public school teacher, was a founding member of three Waldorf schools, and is a national consultant and lecturer on the needs of children today. She is a trained Waldorf Remedial Therapist in Prescott, Arizona, where she works privately with children, consults with schools and has taught in the Masters program of Waldorf Remedial Therapy at Sunbridge College in New York. She has presented at conferences with new research on autism and Waldorf teacher training programs.
