Mayfaire

May Faire honors an ancient festival marking the changing of the seasons. The tree of life was part of this ritual. The tree of life is today the Maypole, bedecked with ribbons and flowers. The ground is strewn with the blossoms of spring, and the children, many wearing flowers, dance and sing around the Maypole. Songs, dancing, games and food all add to the gaiety of the day.

Lily Ceremony

Waldorf schools around the world mark the beginning and end of each school year with a ceremony highlighting the passage of 1st and 12th grade students. Here we honor that passage through the exchange of a lily for the 1st grade students from the twelfth grade students.

The Santa Fe Waldorf School community is invited to celebrate our traditional Lily Ceremony. Our 12th grade students usher in the new academic year by welcoming the 1st grade students. Semi-formal attire is requested.

Location: Outside Grades Building

Grade 10 Play | "Hard Rain"

Hard Rain is an ensemble story-telling play inspired by the Balkan War of the 1990's. But in a time where so many people around the world have been forced to flee their homes and their countries, the themes of Hard Rain resonate now more than ever. Late one night, a city of over a million people is bombed. Only the night before the local teenagers were hanging out in the park, planning their graduations and futures. They suddenly find themselves alone in the rubble of a city they don't recognize, not sure what to do or where to go. Even though they have been witness to unspeakable atrocities they learn to survive “one act of kindness” at a time.
