Enchanted All Hallows' Eve Walk

All Hallows' Eve is celebrated with a spirit of playfulness and gives the opportunity for role playing and make-believe. Imaginative tableaux based on fairy tables, fables, and other curriculum themes are set up outside along a path for the younger children in the school community to view in an evening of magical fun.

We are looking forward to our Enchanted All Hallows’ Eve Walk with great anticipation, and hoping as many families from our school community and beyond will join us! There are just a few changes from previous years to mention. First, we will be asking for a small donation this year ($2 per person or $5 per family). Second, The S'More Pit will again be selling s'mores at the end of the walk in the Hooper Hall meadow. Finally, we are strongly encouraging families with younger children to come during the first half hour (6:30 to 7:00 pm), and those with older children to come after 7:00 pm.

Michaelmas

In Celtic tradition, St. Michael represents the unconquered hero, fighting against evil and the powers of darkness. The experience of nature during autumn, that of a "passing away" illuminated by brilliant color, heralds Michaelmas time. Celebrating Michaelmas, we strive to stimulate our will to fight for the good so that the children realize not even the smallest good deed is ever lost, whether it is noticed or not.

Parents and friends are invited to come to the meadow in front of Hooper Hall to enjoy a festive parade and celebrations in honor of St. Michael. Faculty and high school students will join the lower school for games and activities that afternoon.
