Dear SFWS Grades 8-12 Parents/Guardians,

The athletic departments at Santa Fe Waldorf School and Desert Academy are excited to announce the hire of Teri Gorshing as the head coach of the varsity soccer team!

The official start to the season is Monday August 12th. Practices will be from 4:00-6:00 pm, Monday-Friday, for the weeks of August 12-16 and 19-23, all at Alto Field.

The mandatory preseason meeting will be held Wednesday, August 21st at 6:30 pm in the High School Great Room. This is for all student athletes and their parents to attend in the final preparations for the season.

All athletes must complete and turn in their physical evaluation and concussion forms PLUS a new form this year called the "Consent to Treat" form. This new form was passed by the NMAA to allow any qualified medical provider to be able to apply medical services if your child is injured anywhere. The NMAA is not requiring this form until April 1, 2020 but is strongly recommending all schools to start this new initiative at the start of the school year. All back to school paperwork, including the athletics packet, is due on Monday, August 5th. If you did not submit athletic paperwork with your back to school packet, please submit to the Middle School & High School Office by August 9th or bring it to into the first practice your child attends.
